United We’re Stronger is an audience research panel, which, if you are interested in doing your bit for a charity, or if Cancer Research UK is a charity close to your heart, is a great way to help advance research. The ultimate goal is to bring forward the day which cancer will be curable, and it is solely with research that this will be possible. Any person can apply and after you sign up, you will receive emails every now and then informing you to fill in a survey or a poll. You are not forced to do so in any way, you can fill them in whenever you wish – whenever you have some time spare on your hands. It is for this reason that the audience panel is such a great way of volunteering because you can help out as much or as little as you like. In the mean time, the charity will keep you informed on the development of Cancer Research and what research is being undertaken at the current time.
Most people have not heard of this volunteering role, and it was only with a little amount of research that I found it and wanted to spread the word. It is definitely a topic you are able to speak about in interviews, to show that you actively volunteer - although it may be from your computer, it still shows that you put time and effort into charities you are passionate about.
Many volunteering events which relate to Cancer Research UK are related to sports (eg Race for Life or marathons) and therefore although they too are incredible ways of raising money, for some people, sports may not be their interest. As a result, this is the reason why United We’re Stronger is such a great and unique way to feel as though you can still make a difference as you feel like your voice is being heard. When you sign up, you will have to answer a couple of questions as to why you chose to help out, and also questions about your interests within Cancer Research UK. This enables the charity to give you surveys and polls which are more suited to your interests, for example more scientific based surveys. You do not have to have any skills as such or qualifications – anyone can apply, you simply need to be willing to share your opinions!
