With the popular rise of the nutribullet, a £70 Juice Blender, smoothies have gotten more and more common, especially as part of a healthy diet. They offer many, many combinations of delicious fruit and vegetables, giving you your five a day, a healthy breakfast, and a tasty meal, all in one! So here are some quick, and appetising smoothie recipes; hopefully you’ll find one that makes your day a little bit sweeter!
Summer Berry Smoothie
Although it’s been a little cold, this smoothie is sure to brighten up any frosty morning! Although the recipe is not one for those with nut allergies, it will certainly bring a summer’s breeze into your life. All you need is one cup of raspberries, one cup of chopped banana, a cup of almond milk, a cup of orange juice, and a cup of pomegranate juice. Start by blending the raspberries, and the banana, before adding the juice. Serve with whole raspberries, ice, and enjoy!
Peach Melba Sunrise Smoothie
Another smoothie which should bring more summer into your life, as well as looking absolutely beautiful. All you need is 75g of raspberries, 240ml of almond milk, 1tsp of vanilla extract, 1tbsp of lemon juice, 1 peach (peeled and chopped), and 1 cup of orange juice. First, mix the raspberries, almond milk, vanilla and lemon, blending until there is a smooth consistency. Pour into two glasses, before mixing the peace and orange juice, until it is smooth. Pour the mix into each glass, letting the juices create a natural marbled affect. Enjoy!
Oatmeal Orange Smoothie
Again, another smoothie which uses orange juice (easy to guess from the name). This, however, has a little more smoothness due to the inclusion of ½ cup of Greek Yogurt, ½ cup of rolled oats, 1 frozen banana, 3 small, peeled oranges, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, 1 tablespoon of honey, and around six ice cubes. This is a little more simple- just place the oats into the blender, until they’re well ground, and then add the other ingredients.
Strawberry Coconut Smoothie
This, as a strawberry lover, is my personal favourite. It also has less ingredients than the others, making it perhaps a little cheaper to make. All you need is one frozen banana, 2 cups of frozen strawberries, 1 ½ cups of unsweeted coconut milk, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened shredded coconut, and ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract. This, again, has a very simple method- all you need to do is put all the ingredients into the blender, and blend away!
Matcha, Kale and Peach Smoothie
The ingredients for this one are a little more out-of-the-way, and not normally things you may have lying around the house. But the healthy and delicious result is certainly one worth putting in a little effort! You need 1 banana, 1 cup of almond milk, 2 teaspoons of Matcha, 2 leaves of Kale, with the stems removed, 1 to 2 ripe peaches, or pears, if you prefer, ½ a teaspoon of grated ginger, and a handful of ice. All you need to do is blend, pour, and drink!
