The Strongest Animals Alive Part 2

The Strongest Animals Alive Part 2

After seeing the undeniable strength of some of the world’s animals the number three and one on our countdown may come as quite a surprise so sit back as we continue on with our list of the world’s strongest creatures!

4. Tigers

Number four on our countdown is a fierce animal we find incredibly cute in photos: the baby Bengal tiger. Whilst they can be seen as sweet cubs at first, once grown they become the strongest of tigers standing at 300meters tall. Even when grown the tiger retains a fondness for milk and its muscles inspired one of the most prominent sportsmen: after watching big cats at the local zoo, Charles Atlas decided to develop exercises to transform his body and sold his plan to many inspired people, as such he quickly became the grandfather of the modern fitness industry. Anyway back to our countdown - when tigers get hungry, their power is concentrated into one explosive charge towards their prey. A single bite of a tiger can crack its prey’s spinal cord – no wonder so many people are scared of tigers!

3. Leaf-cutter ants

At number three we have an animal that is located in tropical forests worldwide: the leaf-cutter ant. It may be an unexpected contender but it can carry leaves that are fifty times its own weight – imagine if humans were that strong, it would be like us lifting a truck weighing 3000kg and carrying it 13kilometers! Ants are strictly vegetarian and all worker ants are females but not even these leaf-cutter ants are strong enough to take on every single predator: the ant queen controls the entire colony and can be as big as a mouse. The queen governs and rules an army so powerful that it can strip leaves from a tree in a matter of hours – imagine that power!

2. Elephants

We’re almost at the top of our list and here at number two we have the strongest mamal on the planet: the elephant. For over 2 and a half thousand years civilisations in Asia have relied heavily on elephants; not only are they good to carry heavy weights but they also obey to over 40 demands! African elephants, however, are even stronger weighing at five tonnes.

1. Rhinoceros beetles

Finally, we’re at number one on our countdown of the world’s strongest animals. From ants to elephants, eagles to snakes, we have seen some very powerful creatures yet this one beats them all: the rhinoceros beetle. People in Thailand are so fascinated by the strength of this beetle that they trap a single female inside a log to see the male beetles fight for the female! Some estimate that a rhino beetle can lift 800times its own weight – it’s incredible! It would be like us lifting a tank weighing 650 tonnes. For its size it has much more muscle than we do so it gets an advantage when producing extreme strength. It truly is fascinating to see just how stronger animals are compared to humans and what is even more appealing is how little we know about some of the creatures which live on our planet!
