"Peter Goddworth’s my name Sir!"

Those were my first words, when I boarded this here ship. The ship’s called ‘The Pythonn’ and yes, with two N’s at the end; never really found out why, but...who cares! I am 14 years old and was born in 1856. (So that makes it 1870 right now!) Personally, I have always been fascinated by ships! Though I don’t have a clue why. My Mother joined me up to the ship’s crew so that I could be disciplined and taught right from wrong! Also, because I come from quite a poor background, so my Mother would earn lots of money, (you earn lots of money on the ship) therefore my Brother and I could have a better childhood and have treats more often!

One day, Peter was building a small model of a ship, when his Mother shouted from across the room for him to go to the shop and buy the things on her list. She threw him their last shilling and told him to hurry before supper was ready and got cold. When he got to the market, people were selling their items for cheap prices because it was a late night at the time. He had just collected all of the things on his list, when a man was shoved a flyer into his face, it said:

" RECRUITS WANTED!

Do you want your son to have the best start in life?

Does your son need to be disciplined and taught right from wrong?  

Do you need the extra cash?

If so, all you need to do is come to Ashtoom pier and bring him aboard the ship!

Your son will earn three pennies a day and will return in 6 months!

FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED! "

When he got home, he persuaded his Mum to let him go. But, will he get there in time and will he find anything on the ship?
