About Me:Hello my name is Anastassia Puttnam and I am one of the writers for kings news.I am always smiling and tremendously determined to do anything that is thrown at me. Furthermore people describe me as a quirky character with whacky ideas...that's why I now write these stories. However when I grow up I have always really wanted to be a doctor/heart surgeon, so thats my aim :)
"Time for bed!” The owl called.
Lethargic and restless, the young fledglings came hobbling down the branches of the tree, racing to their mother. Soon after, they were tucked up in their emerald sheets. Meanwhile, their calm and peaceful Mum was slowly drinking a glass of ice cold milk with a crunchy mouse cookie. 10 minutes later, she was dozing off when there was a cry for her. She flew down the tree as fast as lightning to see what the matter was, when she reached the children's branch they were all fast asleep. (Well Timmy was talking in his dreams...about a cat or something!) Flying cautiously, the bird made her way up to the top.
Gleaming, without hesitation, the golden fire ball chuckled with laughter as the owl jumped into her bed. Suddenly, the sun got strangled by the smoky ribbon of clouds, which were gathering and forming every second of the day. The owl smiled, but then her grin came and bit her on the chin...it was...THUNDER AND LIGHTNING! She rolled her eyes and buried herself in the soft and delicate sheet. Wet...wet...wet! Dripping in rain, the owl was lying in her bed (wide awake) observing her feathers. Stretching as much as she could, the glass crystals abandoned her body and lay shattered on the floor. Eyes loosening, jaw opening, getting ready to snore and...Bang! Two cars collided in front of her tree. Rotating her head 360 degrees she pulled an unsatisfied face and then got swallowed by her bed...again! Lying down and dozing off, she half fell asleep and then a barrel of wing came along and knocked her off of her leaf. Flapping effortlessly, she made her way up to the top of the tree for the third time.
She decided to go to a different branch and flap around in the kitchen (do you get the joke?) Finally, after an outstanding sum of minutes, she flew to bed and started to count sheep. When that didn't work, she tried counting back from 5000...but it didn't work. This was going to be her last hope...she started to wiggle her toes, it was relaxing her more and more and more until finally she fell fast asleep...zzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! This was all you could hear coming from her branch. Nevertheless, 10 short minutes later, it was time to wake up as it was time to wake the owlets up. It was time to catch some food and it was time to get rid of the bags under her eyes...should she get up? Will she get up? - What would you do?
