If you're looking for a great day out with absolutely free entry then you have to check out the Natural History Museum in South Kensignton, London! As soon as you enter the great building the skeleton of a mighty dinosaur looms over you, an exciting taste of what's to come. There are just so many things to see in the museum, take a trip back to the days before man walked the Earth and walk with dinosaurs. The exhibiton brings you face to face with not only the bones and history of these great prehistoric creatures but also recreates them with modern robotic effects! If dinosaurs aren't your thing you can take the escalator into the earth (literally it takes you into a model of planet Earth) where you can learn about the nature of our planet and such disasters as when the volcano mount Vesuvius erupted, burying the city of Pompeii beneath it. One of the highlights of this section is the earthquake simulator, it's sure to leave your knees feeling a little wobbly!
As if that isn't enough there's also a huge exhibition on the wonders of our own bodies, it makes science great fun and covers all the biology you'd ever need to know about you and your body; one of the best parts in the body exhibition are the crazy mirrors that bend your body to be tall, thin fat or slim! Finally there's a huge room displaying just about every animal found on land or in sea with a huge blue whale hanging from the ceiling as you enter the room. If you need to know something about an animal for school, you'll find it there I assure you. The room out back of this wildlife room is full of creepy crawlies from giant tarantula spiders to scary scorpions, if you're brave enough that's definitely worth visiting! There is so much to see and do at the museum with two places to eat and a gift shop as well as all these exhibits, oh and that's just the ground floor! If you want to find out more take a look on the website and have a great day out!
