About Me: Hello, I'm Dabbie (short for Dabeluchi). I am a student at Dartford Grammar School for Girls. I love reading mystery books, and solving the mystery with the author. I hope you enjoy reading my stories.
It was a long time ago. Soon to be king – Prince Edward sat on his bed. It was the day before his coronation. He sat and practised his rather sloppy wave. As the door, opened his hand flew behind his back. She ran up to him and hugged him. “Honey, I need to talk to you about something – I’m pregnant.” He took a step back and stared at the floor, trying to process the information. Slowly, she walked away.
The next day was his coronation day and they hadn’t spoken since the day before. After the ceremony, he walked into the ball. BANG! Edward bent down in time. The guards seized the culprit and threw him in the dungeon. He was never seen again. Edward stood back up and found himself looking at her. “Victoria, I haven’t seen you around since… How are you?”
“I am good.”
“I must apologise about how I acted and as much as I wanted to raise this chid with you. It’s not safe. I cant leave my royal duties but if you go now you could raise him well. When it is time he can return and be King Frederick.” He smirked to himself. She flung her arms around him. He held out her elbow. She took it and he led her out the door.
“I hate to say goodbye but we must do it. But we can send letters.” Tears welled up in her eyes as she picked up her scarf and tied it. They embraced. She walked off. She stopped. She waved. She left. Off into the distance.
Victoria stood in front of her son as she recounted her story. “I’m a prince!” Fred exclaimed. “But what about Gothel can she come?”
“I am so sorry, Fred but no.”
He looked down. Water fell down his face. He wiped them and ran up the stairs and onto his bed.
It was his last day. He went out and enjoyed as much as he could before he left. Gothel cheered him on as he attempted his jump. It was spectacular; a perfect 360 degrees, followed by an areal, landing in the water. Gothel ran in after him and hugged him. They laughed and swam around in the lake. Later that day, they stared at the stars. He put his arm around her shoulder. She glanced at him, and put her head on his shoulder. As they were about to leave, they hugged. Frederick looked Gothel in the eye and kissed her. “I’ll be back!” Slowly he walked away leaving her in the darkness.
It had been 5 years later and Gothel was on her journey to be reunited with her best friend love. King Frederick was sitting in the dining hall. He was soon accompanied by his wife, Queen Arianna. He pushed her hair away from her face and kissed her cheek. Slowly, they were led into the morning room. “Look at our baby.” Arianna said in awe of her baby’s beauty.
“She is so beautiful and I will call her Rapunzel like the flower.” Frederick stared at his daughter’s young face.
“King Frederick, a visitor is claiming to have known you.” The butler explained.
The king and queen went to see this request. “How dare you, do this to me! You hurt me like nobody else has in my life.”
“Gothel!”
She saw the flower in Arianna’s hair and scrunched up the flower in her hand. She walked towards Arianna and whispered, “You don’t deserve anything.” She stood back and repeated. “You will regret this.”
Heart-broken, she ran into the distance with tears rolling down from his face. She heard a baby cry and ran in the direction. She found the baby’s cot. She read the name embroidered onto the cot. “Hi Rapunzel.” She laughed to herself. The baby started to cry in fear
“What did I do wrong? I only took what should have been mine.” Rapunzel sucked her thumb.
