Mother-loving (Part 1)

Mother-loving (Part 1)

“Shhh!” she giggled as she led him onto the cliff.

Each day they came up to their spot and danced around.  Frederick attempted (each day) to do a 360 degrees jump, an arerial all in one jump. Gothel would quite simply sit under their favourite tree and brush her hair while she watched him attempt his jump.  And as day turned to night they’d sit in front of their tree and watch the beautiful sunset.

Located in the centre right is their tree. Surrounded by fresh green grass and a variety of coloured flowers; from where Fred picked a flower and planted it in Gothel’s hair. She looked up, smiled and hugged him. They sat underneath their tree and watched the spectacular view there was to offer. He planted his hand over her shoulder and she rested her head on his arm.

It was a calm, tranquil town except for when Gothel and Fred were running around. Although it interrupted the peace, it brought a smile to all. After running around they would go to the sweet shop.

“Good afternoon, Jim.” They said.

“There are my favourite customers. Fred, did you complete your jump? Nice flower, Gothel.”

Jim was the shop keeper and had known these two for a long time. They came to him to talk and to buy sweets. It was a nice little shop filled with sweets on the racks. It did well financially although it could have done with a makeover. Well, Gothel would agree. She had some many ideas about how to improve the store. Jim had heard the plans so much he could recite them in his sleep. But he wasn’t ready to start redecorating his shop. Fred just thought about how to do the jump and sometimes planned an order for the sweets.

It was a normal day. Later that evening, Fred had just attempted his jump and dried himself. They were watching the sunset. Life was perfect. “Fred, can I speak to you.” They turned around in a flash. “Hello mother.”

“Hello son.”

“Hello, miss.”

“Hello Gothel, nice to see you.”

Frederick followed his mother. It didn’t look good. They started talking and a worried face grew on his mother’s face and he looked like a bloated tomato. Gothel looked at the sky and started to pack up the picnic basket and blankets.

She stood up with the freshly folded blankets piled on top of the picnic basket.

She dusted herself and turned around. She saw his mother walk off into the distance. “Hi,” said Fred. In shock, she dropped the basket and blankets.

“What was that about?”

“Nothing important. Don’t worry about it”

“Why are you putting your hand on your neck?”

“My neck hurts.”

“You only put your hand on your neck when you are lying,”

“That’s a lie,”

“What were you talking about, then?”

“I am moving. My dad is the king and I am of age to start doing prince stuff.”

Gothel’s eyes welled up with tears.

“But mum said that I can come back and visit. We can still be best friends though, I promise.”

“When are you leaving?” she tried to blink back the tears.

“2 days time.”

“Son, let’s go!” his mum called from the distance.

”Coming mother.” He waved and left leaving Gothel alone in tears.
