Mermaid Mission Part 2

Mermaid Mission Part 2

It was dark. The only light source was located on jellyfish that swam across doing his evil bidding. The lair was marked with big bulky rocks. At this part of the ocean, the water was darker than other areas. Rumour had it that Rodrick infected it with his evil heart. Although nobody has actually seen it, there was one image that popped into everyone’s mind when Rodrick was mentioned. It was said that he tied his victim with coral and other underwater plants, hidden in rock caves (acted as a prison cell).

Rodrick walked in and stroked his beard, “Hmm.” His walked across his lair observing each prisoner. Very soon, I will take over this kingdom. I will rule not just you but all of Atlantis! I’ll kill the army then give a surprise attack on Atlantis. Ahh! They will never see it coming.”  He walked towards the weapons vault. The door unlocked leading him into a room with weapons hung on the walls of the vault. The evil master walked out with his most powerful gun. “Stage One: send the warning.” He brewed followed by a cackle.

A large wave passed through the ocean. Houses shook; people were pulled from the floor bed and everything was chaos. The king summoned the army immediately. “This is no normal wave. It had more power, more strength and perfectly targeted. It takes skill to fire such a machine at an angle and land at pin point accuracy.” He explained.

“You don’t think…” the captain exclaimed, shocked.

“I thought I was made but it seems like it.”

What do we do?”

“Prepare. Prepare for his next attack,” The king instructed. Ariana listened from outside the door. She was trying to process the idea. They hadn’t had an attack in centuries. She was worried. Ariana has been ready for the day that she could finally help and prove to her father that she could do it. The process had an idea. She didn’t think through it. Ariana got up and left carrying only a bag filled with some food; a spear and her locket with a picture of her mother and herself inside. Before climbing out of her window, she left a note on her bed.

She jumped on top of the building but stayed low before diving into a bush of underwater plants landing with a roly polyShe crawled from bush to bush to avoid the heavy security located around the premises of the castle. It wasn’t long until she had fully left the castle’s ground. Ariana looked back and smiled. She rubbed the tears and continued her journey. She perused for food and water to restock for her long trip

A month had passed. All were on the look out for the lost princess. The king spread the word via commoners. It was the only conversation you would hear. It wasn’t long until it spread to the wrong ears. It swam back with a message in its mind; dodging attention and staying within the crowd.

“Master, she is coming.”
