It’s my secret
‘You need to take your new Gucci bag, and here is your pocket money for this week. Have fun!’ said Mum, a famous and well-known fashion model. It was a huge wallet with over 1 million pounds in it! Sophie was so excited about going to a normal school and finally fitting in; she used to go to St. Anne’s, a very expensive private school. The chauffeur was waiting outside with her favourite Ferrari, which is a lime green one. She entered and looked behind her. She saw a 100 million pound mansion, which is where she lived, and was elated to leave her old identity there. She was anxious but really couldn’t wait. She didn’t want to be seen in the car, something she was pretty sure that normal children don’t have. Sophie told her driver to stop and walked half a kilometre down the road to her new school, Mayfield Comprehensive. She saw all the children walking down the road with carrier bags for their books and cheap looking jumpers to keep warm. She looked down at her own designer handbag and Miss Selfridge bomber jacket - she took her jacket off and left it in the car, even though she was cold, and asked the driver,
‘Do you have a carrier bag?’ He gave her the bag her handbag came in, but even that was too posh. She had to go into the bin and find a Sainsbury’s bag. She didn’t even know what Sainsbury’s was. In the school playground there was a buzz of excitement. Everyone was chatting happily while Sophie just took in her surroundings.
‘Hey, new girl, do you want to hang out with us?’ said a girl called Emma. She saw a crowd of girls with low scruffy ponytails and chipped nails with her. She did the same with her hair and spent the whole day biting her nails. Suddenly, the bell rung and everyone filed inside (well more like stampeded inside) the classrooms.
‘Today we have a new student, Sophie!’ said Sophie’s new teacher, Miss Pankhurst. ‘Tell us a bit about yourself…’
Sophie didn’t say much. She only said her age, her name and her favourite food, and then sat back down. After a long day of work, gossip and chatting, Sophie and Emma decided to go shopping. Once they arrived at the local shopping mall, they went into Emma’s favourite store, Primark. Emma noticed that Sophie was picking out anything she wanted, no matter how expensive, while she was just picking out small accessories. When they got to the till, Emma’s total was nine pounds, while Sophie’s was almost three hundred pounds. Emma was astounded!
Then Sophie asked how much all the clothes in Emma’s size would cost, and it was £600,000. The store manager collected it all up and put it in over 25 huge bags. Emma fainted! She couldn’t believe it. Her best friend was a billionaire. A real billionaire. This is amazing.
‘Don’t tell anyone about all of this, it’s my secret!’ Sophie whispered.
