About Me:I'm a graduate student studying International Criminal Law and first started writing for King's News almost 4 years ago! My hobbies include reading, travelling and charity work. I cover many categories but my favourite articles to write are about mysteries of the ancient world, interesting places to visit, the Italian language and animals!

I see you

I see you

I see you

I see you

Standing over there

Smirking at me

In my wheelchair.

I see you

Pretending not to see

That I’m struggling down the stairs

But you don’t help me.

I see you

Pointing my way

You’re laughing at my wheelchair

You’ve ruined my day.

I see you

Laughing and running around

Whilst I can’t even

Feel my feet touch the ground.

I see you

Playing with your friends

Yet you only talk to me

When you borrow my pens.

I see you

Sprinting and dancing

Without a care in the world

Whilst I keep on fighting.

I see you

From your feet to your knees

Your long legs and thighs

I’m jealous can’t you see.

I see you

Question is can you see me?

I’m standing right here

Yet you’re too embarrassed to see.

You think your words hurt me

Your pity makes me despair

You say I’m not normal

But I don’t care.

We could have been friends

Best buddies at that

But you avoided me like the plague

There was no room to chat.

I can see right through you

I know who you are

Yet you will never know me

Because you’re too afraid to ask.

So next time you see someone

Who can’t walk or can’t see,

Forget your differences

Like you didn’t do with me.
