About Me: Hello, I'm Dabbie (short for Dabeluchi). I am a student at Dartford Grammar School for Girls. I love reading mystery books, and solving the mystery with the author. I hope you enjoy reading my stories.
Ava had long brown hair, tied in a messy bun. There was a strand of hair on her face that covered her bushy eyebrows. She had tanned skin with natural features. Ava was not one to care about appearance. She did not like to groom herself. While, others would add make up and dress up, she would enter wearing the most basic outfit. She had no dresses except one that her mum forced her to wear. But Ava strictly refused to wear make-up. She wore an oversized sweatshirt with sweatpants for the vast majority of the time.
Ava was out for her morning run. Her long legs stretched across the length of the track. She had her headphones plugged in and held her phone. After completing her laps, she put her hands in her pocket and began to breathe deeply before checking the stopwatch that she had activated.
“Wow! You've really improved! That's a record time!” The coach said who had been watching from afar.
“Thanks! I guess the practice really has paid off.” Ava turned around and began to walk home.
On the way home, she walked through her regular path. Ava was walking through the forest – it was her little shortcut. It was a narrow pathway surrounded by bushy green trees. The path had logs and rocks scattered along the floor. She knew her way around with her eyes closed. The leaves rustled. Ava stopped and turned around. There was a bunny rabbit who had jumped out of the bush. The young athlete turned around and continued to run.
Its arms wrapped around her stomach. She wanted to shout but if covered her mouth. He pushed his hand against her mouth. It lifted her up. Ava began to struggle. She started to pant, getting angrier by the second. Her face looked like a tomato. Flames began to export through her hands. Finally, she roared and a large ball of flames flew out of her hand and blasted the fiend.
She looked down at it. Its eyes stared at her in anger and pain. Ava put back in her headphones and began to exit the premises and ran off home. The door flung open and she plunged herself on the bed. She sat on the bed and thought: thought about the day. Ava tried to bring her flames. Unfortunately, nothing worked.
“I need to tell you something.” She violently knocked on the door. Olivia opened the door and Ava entered. She looked stress and sat on the couch overthinking. Was she doing the right thing?
“Ava! Calm down. Take some water.” After having a drink, she sat down and told the story. Olivia listened, intrigued. “Have some more, I think you were hallucinating.” Olivia instructed.
“I know it sounds crazy, but you have to trust me.”
“Sure. Tell me more.” They both went upstairs to her room. She seemed to forget about her strange adventure.
The next day, they went to school. They were having a great day. At the end of the day, they were walking home and approached Blaze. “Oh, sorry I didn’t see you down there.” He high-fived his friends who stood behind him and left laughing.
Ava’s face reddened. She saw sparks fly out at first. Ava wanted to bury him alive. “Ava! Take a deep breath.” The sparks flew back in and her face returned to its original colour. “I guess you were telling the truth.”
“Yeah. But I don’t know when and why it happens.”
“I do.”
“What is it?
“It's far worse than anger. Anger would not supply such power. Its rage.”
