About Me:Hello my name is Anastassia Puttnam and I am one of the writers for kings news.I am always smiling and tremendously determined to do anything that is thrown at me. Furthermore people describe me as a quirky character with whacky ideas...that's why I now write these stories. However when I grow up I have always really wanted to be a doctor/heart surgeon, so thats my aim :)
Once upon a time, there lived a young princess named Angelica; her extremely long golden hair, which was longer than a horse, was like threads of silk swooping across her face in the raging wind. This was on a cold dark night when she was lost in a field, with no one around. She desperately tried to search around for someone to stay with for the night until she got some way to contact her family! She looked and looked when, finally, she saw a small cottage on the edge of the field. Staggering quickly to the house, she knocked on the door politely. The strange thing was that the cottage was made out of peas treats and sweets. She explained her story to the old, feeble looking woman who opened the door and she walked her inside. She offered her some tempting treats and began to feed the princess lots and lots! As Angelica was greedily indulging in the food feast, the old lady scuttled towards the over sized oven and returned to Angelica again. Whilst the princess was liking her fingers the old lady prised her up and walked over to the oven. Soon Angelica snapped out of her sweet heaven and realized what was happening! (she was trying to get the princess fat so she could cook her and eat her) Therefore Angelica escaped the old lady’s grip and ran for the door as fast as she could! But suddenly the old lady chased her and as soon as she got out of the door grew into a hideous giant. Then the giant began to chant:
“You can run, you can run as fast as you can, but I will catch you because I am the giant woman! I will pick you up and take you up to my husband’s lair. He lives in the clouds on a beanstalk up there. It was a trap you see, to lure you in for tea; I don’t live in that cottage I live in the sky because I am my husband’s wife. We will put you in a tower up in the clouds full of straw that you will have to weave into gold ...for us to hold! And you will stay up there for years to come, so this is your life now it’s here, it’s done!” And that is what they done to her.
Meanwhile, her prince was going up the wall worrying about her, wondering where she had gone. He was standing on the balcony thinking about what to do next. When suddenly he saw her hair flowing out of the window, in the tower above the clouds. As a result he put on his best armour got on his horse, and galloped to the bottom of the beanstalk. Then he tied the horse to the bottom of it and the prince began to climb the beanstalk. When he reach the top he heard the loud roar of the giants sleeping so he ran to the bottom of the tower and Angelica to throw down her long hair. He climbed up her hair got into the room and used his sword to pick the lock on the door. They rushed down the spiralling stairs of the crept back past the giants and slid back down the beanstalk. Then the prince chopped it down with his sword and they galloped off into the moonlight. And they lived happily ever after! Unlike the giants who died from landing in the sea...giants can swim!
