Dr Alex: Goodbye Sun

Dr Alex: Goodbye Sun

It was a cold winter night. All were asleep; except for one. You know the name...DR ALEX!!! She was in her fancy house working on her next fantastic out-of-this-world project.

The next day was a rush in London. Everybody was up and on their feet. When Alex had finally arrived at the London Society of Science, she began to set up her project. Tingling with elation, she began to explain. The blank looks on their faces made her feel superior. It was as if she spoke in a foreign language. Experiment time she thought buzzing ecstatically as the fun began...

Alex was handed a round of applause from her fellow colleagues. They were speechless. She felt like she was on top of the world.

Back in her lab personal scientific education centre, she was preparing for her next meeting with the insurance company for money to build the project. How great it was to no longer have to hide her true passion for science!

She was an inspiration to all especially a little girl. Charlotte loved the work that Dr Alex - her hero - did. Charlotte was even working on her own project. Experiment time she thought as Alex’s most famous quote stated.

Something weird was happening. Never before had it taken so long. Never had it displayed bubbles of nitric acid, with the colours fading from one to another. It only did this when it was going to… uh oh! Charlotte knew that she had only 30 29 28 seconds (you get the idea) left. Without thinking twice, she collected all her papers after taking a picture of the project. 5… 4… 3… 2... she managed to dart out just in time and closed the door.

It was like a volcano exploding with hot oozing lava. She could feel the blast from behind and trust me, she wasn’t the only one. Cautiously, she peaked through the door hole and saw flashes of vibrant colours. Charlotte ran over to her mum unharmed.

On the other side of the city, Alex noticed her plant beginning to darken. The suns energy was weakening! How?! In a flash she dropped her research papers and glided across the floor, on my spinning chair, to an empty desk where my plant lay. Night crept on but that eyelid did not close for a rest. “Yes!” she cried from the top of her voice.

When she eventually woke from her sleep, she headed off to the source of the suns energy reduction.

A scream was heard that was so loud it would have broken your ears. “It’s you, Dr Alexa! I can’t believe it! I am your biggest fan! Sorry where are my manners, I’m Charlotte.”

“Hello, nice to meet you. Just call me Alex. We need to be prompt there isn’t a lot of time, show me where your experiment’s source. Due to the amount of high voltage used you have created a reduction of the sun’s energy. We must stop it before the earth begins to suffer more; before it’s too late.” Alexa explained as they rushed to Charlotte’s lab. “Urika! I have solved it! Look!” Charlotte shouted with enthusiasm which faded away as Alex tweaked the plan a little. “It is time, Charlotte.” Alexa announced proudly.

“Experiment time!” Charlotte bursted out, tingling uncontrollably. Alex blushed.

“World saved! High Five!” Alexa declared high fiving Charlotte.
