You've probably never heard of Claudio Vieira De Oliveira because he isn't a celebrity or inspirational figure in History but he is nonetheless truly inspirational. He was born with congenital arthrogryposis, a rare degenaritive disorder which has caused his body to be formed in an awkward position. His arms are curled upwards as though he is begging and his legs curved under him so that he cannot walk. Furthermore his head is incredibly bent so far backwards that he is referred to as 'the man with the upside down head'. Despite his severe disability Claudio insists on retaining some indepedance and often walks on his knees rather than be pushed in a wheelchair. He refuses to be seen as any different from anybody else despite having to fight a battle every day just to do simple tasks like put on clothes. This man is a true inspiration, he may not be as famous as some people but his struggle is ongoing and has been since brith. He has lived his whole life with this condition and despite many prayers from his family and a blessing from the pope he insists that his condition should not be viewed negatively, he considers himself a normal person.
Despite his seemingly unlivable condition Claudio had a successful education and finished his degree at the State University of Feira, becoming a qualified accountant. He was able to carry out his job using his mouth to operate the computer mouse and holding a pen in his mouth with which to type on the keyboard. Using his mouth he can also turn on the TV or use a computer; it is incredible that he does not become depressed by his rare condition and instead fights to overcome his disability and function on his own. Therefore I believe that Claudio is a truly inspirational person and deserves recognition.
