About Me: Hello, I'm Dabbie (short for Dabeluchi). I am a student at Dartford Grammar School for Girls. I love reading mystery books, and solving the mystery with the author. I hope you enjoy reading my stories.
The tree returned to its original position and her face returned to its original colour as she quickly acted as if nothing happened; Ava speed walked off on her way back home, red with embarrassment. “I saw you in the corridors when Blaze hung you on your locker. I was going to take you off of it but then I saw you get down by yourself.”
“Well that was just because I had been working out. I got a new high score at my running club. The coach said that I was doing really well.”
“Ava, I know that it is something serious. I know that you go pale in the face and go out of control when you are upset. I can help you, Ava.”
“How do you know about it?”
“Well, um, I actually had it and used to teach others who had it before I became a teacher at this school. Don’t worry, you can trust me.”
“Okay. But I don’t know when and why it happens.”
“I do.”
“What is it?
“It's far worse than sadness. Sadness would not supply such power. Its depression. Whenever you feel depressed you would feel a great supply of power running through your veins. They are very hard to control as they are triggered by emotions and I can teach you to tame it and only use it when necessary. However, we need to be careful because there are many creatures and monsters who seek such power.”
“I first realised I had, um depression when I was met by a monster. It had -”
“No, no! This is bad. This means that they can already sniff you out. They are onto you. These creatures are advanced are can sniff out those with depression but now they know you are one of the last remaining -”
“Last remaining in what!”
“Only 1% contain depression and it is very rare compared to before – 15%. Many of these few people disappeared throughout the ages.”
“Well, um, that’s strange: how could do much people disappear.”
“I don’t know. I never really thought anything of it.”
” Maybe it was just a coincidence. I just feel like there is more to it than it seems.”
“Well, if you want, I can train you. I’m a professional."
“Can this just be our little secret?”
“Yes Ava, we can’t tell anyone else. I have to get going, bye.”
“Bye.”
They both dispersed and began to walk with their heads down. She climbed over the wall and went on to the streets and entered their houses. Ava greeted her parents and then went upstairs. She sat at her desk. She flipped her board. Ava took a pin out of her draw and attached thread to it. The pin sunk its sharp edge into a picture of Mr Lanely above the post it notes reading: suspicious knowledge. She flung herself in her chair and thought about it. “What happens if someone was particularly targeting these people. Maybe this is what caused the large decrease.” Ava attaches a question mark. “Who could it be?” She records the percentage drop and sticks it around the question mark. She plunged herself into the bed.
