About Me: Hello, I'm Dabbie (short for Dabeluchi). I am a student at Dartford Grammar School for Girls. I love reading mystery books, and solving the mystery with the author. I hope you enjoy reading my stories.
Ava had long brown hair tied in a messy bun. There was a strand of hair on her face that covered her bushy eyebrows. She had tanned skin with natural features. Ava was not one to care about appearance. She did not like to groom herself. While others would add make up and dress up, she would enter wearing the most basic outfit. She had no dresses except one that her mum forced her to wear. But Ava strictly refused to wear make-up. She wore an oversized sweatshirt with sweatpants for the vast majority of the time.
Ava was out for her morning run. Her long legs stretched across the length of the track. She had her headphones plugged in and held her phone. After completing her laps, she put her hands in her pocket and began to breathe deeply before checking the stopwatch that she had activated.
“Wow! You've really improved! That's a record time!” The coach said who had been watching from afar.
“Thanks! I guess the practice really has paid off.” Ava turned around and began to walk home.
On the way home, she walked through her regular path. Ava was walking through the forest – it was her little shortcut. It was a narrow pathway surrounded by bushy green trees. The path had logs and rocks scattered along the floor. She knew her way around with her eyes closed. The leaves rustled. Ava stopped and turned around. There was a bunny rabbit who had jumped out of the bush. The young athlete turned around and continued to run.
Its arms wrapped around her stomach. She wanted to shout but it covered her mouth. He pushed his hand against her mouth. It lifted her up. Ava began to struggle. She tried to bite away the tears until they poured out like a waterfall. She clenched her fist and outstretched her limbs, knocking the creature on the floor. Like a snake, it slithered back up to its feet keeping its eyes on Ava. She screamed as it urged closer and looked up, only to see it floating in mid-air. Its eyebrows were so high up his face that I couldn’t see them. He tried to bring himself back down to the ground but struggled. Slowly, she lowered her hand from in front of my face. I got knocked off my feet with what felt like a horrendous earthquake. Ava jumped up and went closer to the creature in curiosity only to find it landing on the floor. In order to take a second look, she walked around it in circles however it just rotating so that she only saw on body part. She tried to process it but stopped when she came to a conclusion. Ava elevated her hand and it followed. She moved her hand to the left making it crash into the trees.
She looked down at it. Its eyes stared at her in anger and pain. Ava put back in her headphones and began to exit the premises and ran off home. The door flung open and she plunged herself on the bed. She sat on the bed and thought: thought about the day. Ava tried to bring back her telekinisis. Unfortunately, nothing worked.
The next day, she went to school. Throughout school Ava couldn’t stop thinking about the day before. In the corridors she met Blaze, the school bully, in the corridor who hung her by the hood on her locker. She injected her teeth into her gums as she did not want to be seen crying but when they left she let it out. With water droplets running down her face, she outstretched her limbs and ripped her hoody down. Ava stopped and looked at her hood and stuffed it into her locker and ran to class. At the end of the day, Ava was walking home and approached Blaze. “Oh, sorry I didn’t see you down there.” He high-fived his friends who stood behind him and left laughing.
Ava’s face turned pale. She ran off into the forest and lifted the tree and was moving it towards Blaze. Ava wanted to bury him alive. “Ava! Take a deep breath. Put it down before you do some serious damage.”
“Who are you?” The tree circled her as defense. “Come out!”
“Ok, I’m coming.” The trees rustled as big black work shoes popped out followed by a navy suit. He picked out the leaves from his smooth chestnut brown hair. He was calm and slowly approached Ava with his hands outstretched directly in front of him as a safe gesture.
“Mr Lanely!”
